Every radio station has one presenter who refuses to fit into any category, and AM-ROCK is no exception to that rule. Dave Fuller is often referred to as a rock presenter but he is so much more, having worked tirelessly on both sides of the glass.
Dave's radio career started way back in what we at AM-ROCK call “the old days”. His first radio station was a London pirate broadcasting by the call sign of RFM. There he helped break bands such as Bjork's Sugar Cubes, and melodic rock band FM.
Expanding horizons has always been what Dave Fuller is about, and after leaving RFM he explored the concept of an indie-based station, notably programming an all-female stream as an integral part of the Radio Jennifer project in north-east London.
Dave actively consulted with the British Home Office and its agent, the Radio Authority, with regards to the UK's expansion of broadcast radio, leading to the introduction of local Community Radio. Fuller then retired from radio to help bring up his child.
Several years ago he was asked out of retirement to produce a rock show on Kent's Sittingbourne FM, a programme he hosted until March 2018.
Dave is still at the cutting edge of radio, and it is our pleasure to welcome him to the world of internet broadcasting with a management role here at AM-ROCK.
Veteran - some might say vintage - rock presenter Claire Mansfield cut her broadcasting teeth co-founding London's biggest pirate rock radio station Rock-FM in the 80's. The station championed new, unsigned bands, and was instrumental in breaking artists like the Lightning Seeds, The Voice of the Beehive, Shy and Strangeways.
Claire presented shows for most of London's....ahem...unofficial rock stations including Raiders FM, spearheading the rise of female rock DJ's in the then stubbornly patriarchal world of rock pirates.
A prominent and vocal campaigner for a dedicated legal UK rock station, Claire worked on several community radio campaigns before re-joining Raiders Broadcast, an early adopter of internet broadcasting, as Programme Controller. She presents two shows on Raiders, including the Nightcap at 11pm showcasing contemporary indie. Claire is a co-founder of AM-ROCK.
Tony has been involved in music for a while, appearing briefly on ‘underground’ radio in the 1980’s, and then pursuing the creation and performance of music, as a keyboard player, in a variety of bands; from Heavy Rock, to Jazz-Rock, to Pop and Progressive Rock. He currently writes and records with the duo ‘Cognitive Dissonance’, as well as experimenting with composition in a variety of styles.
Tony also presents the weekly "Jazz Session” on Raiders Broadcast covering jazz, jazz-rock and blues, as well as a monthly world-music show, "The Crossing", featuring a mix of folk and world-music from all continents. When he’s not doing music, he dabbles with systems thinking.
